Uniform and Language

I recently watched two movies. One was Kingsman and the other was The Foreigner. Well watching them makes me realized that wearing suit and tie is really something else. It will make you look elegant. With class. And all the good things I can think about. I would like to wear one, honestly. But in the current place and situation I detest it a lot. For the record we are not wearing those kind of suit and tie. But we do have a uniform. Call me crazy it is fine, but I still want to share my opinions anyway. I mean I know the advantages of having uniform. We just lack the coat. If we wear a coat then we can exactly look like those people from the Kingsman movie. 

Now why I hate wearing this formal uniform? Well before I say so. Correct me if I am wrong but those kind of clothing came from the Western countries for a reason. And so why do the rest of the world has to follow? Even in the days that we are no longer a colony of a rich western country? It would have been so convenient if only we are not in a very hot place. Oh please do not argue with me in saying that we have a so called winter. I am not complaining about the weather but our winter is not like the winter of the rest of the world. So we do not really need layers of clothing especially on our summer. And the maintenance! In this age where no ironing needed cloth is available they still insist on issuing us uniforms that ironing is needed. How I hate ironing. And it is also consuming electricity. With little salary they are expecting us to consume the electricity just to iron the uniform. Hmp.

So for me the most convenient uniform will be any jeans and polo shirt. The ones like in Giordano where ironing is not needed. Not sure if it is called polo shirt. But then I know there is nothing I can do about it that I end up just ranting about here... Ranting about it is all I can do and it will never change in a million years to come. Even if the company no longer has the money to provide us new sets of uniform... And the next topic is language. The main reason why I am trying hard to learn a language is for a career change. Admittedly I am getting older. But then in spite of it I cannot stop working. How can I support myself until the day I die if I don't have a work? And in the past I supported my family (bread winner) so there was not much savings in my bank account. Until now I still have some responsibilities back home. I had been thinking hard on what do I have (something special) that I can sell to my future employers to hire me among the sea of young candidates. I feel that only language can save me.

In the past I tried applying for a job in Canada, Australia and New Zealand as they are English speaking countries but tough luck. Been trying for a decade. Time to give up. Tried finding employer in some European countries but still nothing. I admit that there is a pain in my heart seeing how some European countries welcomed people who are now creating chaos in their places but not giving a chance a law abiding and working person like me that happened to be from a third world country. Oh life. Just because you are fair don't expect the world to be the same to you. So maybe after my stint here in the Middle East I will try to find my luck in some Asian countries. Maybe Japan. Maybe Taiwan. Maybe Singapore. Maybe China. Maybe South Korea. But before that I must learn at least 3 languages. 

I wish I started learning years ago. But back then I do not know how. I do not have many friends who helps me. I mean I found out audio learning languages on my own. No one told me. I stumbled upon Pimsleur languages by luck. I know I have to learn how to read and write too. But hopefully that time will come for me too. Because for now I am all about listening and speaking. As I have said repeatedly in the past I do not have much time. At least by listening I can do it while working. Or doing some household chores. This is the best kind of learning for me.  At first it is hard. But as I keep on listening to the same lesson/unit repeatedly it becomes easier. Patience is a virtue. I know when I am done with Pimsleur I will be needing other materials. And lucky me I have other materials available at home. I got them all freely from the internet.

Right now I am trying to learn Nihongo and Mandarin. I wish I can only share those lessons here since I got them all for free. But unfortunately until now I do not know how to embed audio in a post.

HM Ginko Green

Photos overload but no additional review or feedback about the product. And whatever there is that I can say about H&M makeup I've said it already the first time. So I will be just repeating myself. 

My 9th eyeshadow from H&M is called Ginko Green. And based on the name it is a shade of green. So below are the usual photos. Like back of the eyeshadow. The content and lastly the swatches under different light settings. Or at least two settings. Haha.

Original price was 49.00AED and the sale price was 5.00AED. I do not know if the shades are permanent. I do not know how many shades do they have exactly. All I know is H&M has vast collection of makeup in such a little space. Don't know also why they dropped the prices last year. 

For me this is the shade of lime green. Unfortunately shades of greens and blues does not look good on my brown skin. And I stupidly bought all the colorful shades I can find during that sale. So this is the end result I am just using each shade once then discarding them after each usage.

Tried to take a photo of the swatch three times in two lighting conditions. One is directly under the light and the other is not under it. Anyway I can attest that so far all the swatches of H&M eyeshadows I've shown here are very close to the real life colors.

All the 9 H&M eyeshadows I used all are highly pigmented. And will last for a few hours even without a primer. As of the fall outs it is normal to have when you are using eyeshadow brush. But I'm using my fingers only. I have a small eyelids that one shade of shadow is enough. Two or more and it will create chaos. Especially when I am wearing my glasses.

And that's all for today. It is very small but at least one more small item out of my stash. I think I may have at least 500 items. Shoes. Bags. Clothes. Makeup. Skin care products. But I do not let it annoy me. I am the minimalist wannabe with the slowest pace in discarding my items. But heck at least it is moving. Than not at all.

I also started decluttering my external disk. Old movies that are totally forgettable. Same with the series. But before deleting them all I am uploading them in YouTube and Facebook. So my friends can see them if they want to.

Hacker

Well.. I have an Instagram account since it came out in the market even though I do not know how to use it. Eventually I have forgotten the password. Created a new account and that time I know already how to use it until eventually I got bored. As I see a lot of makeups in my loop. Which is not helping me at all when I decided to go minimalist. But then I cannot stay away from Instagram as browsing photos can be fun too. And I need a social media where I can store photos from my phone. So I created a new one last year. Lo and behold, someone hacked it! Which I found very funny. So funny that the hacker actually gave me back my account! 

First of all my account is public. So what else is there could I be hiding? Then I do not do chat via Instagram. And back then I was not even posting photos of my face. Just random stuff about daily reminders or about minimalism. Or beauty products. I never found out who have done it or for what reason. My account is back. Photos of mine are all over it. And it is very much public. It only shows that the world has far too many twisted people roaming around.

Empty Bottle #141: Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Cream 🌸

I bought this one on sale during my visit to Turkey last August 2016. Crabtree and Evelyn is available in Marks and Spencer UAE but the prices are quite high. While I got this brand on sale in Gratis. For barely 10.00AED so even though I do not need it I made the purchase anyway. I bought all the variants I can get. And managed to finish this one. It is way better than the La Roche Posay I used in the past. But then because I have many creams on my stash that I did not repurchase yet. I don't know how many products exactly I need to finish until I can start shopping again.

Victoria's Secret Pear Glaze

A lot of photos/posts are sitting in my draft. And I cannot remember why. Posting them anyway. Victoria's Secret Pear Glaze. Wonder if anyone knows about this scent? I think it has been discontinued. Will the Victoria's Secret discontinue the rest of this line too? I used to be a fan though. But my preferred scent is Love Addict.

HM The New Yew

Too much photos for today but no new information. The 8th H&M eyeshadow in my stash that I used and have to get rid of. This is called The New Yew in the shade of blue green.

49.00AED if not on sale but I got it for only 5.00AED last year. And since I am not wearing makeup on daily basis that I can never finish even one of it.

Good pigmentation as always. Can last for a few hours even without a primer which is a plus point. But sadly for a brown skinned girl like me it does not look good. I look very loud.

Above swatches were taken on the dim side of the room while the last swatch was taken under the light. Camera is good but the owner is not. But at least I can say that is the color too in real life. Maybe it will look good on people with fair skin. But as for me, adios to it!

Empty Bottle #140: Woods of Windsor Blue Orchid 🌸

Woods of Windsor Blue Orchid Body Wash. Purchased this on sale during the time that I was hoarding. And so keen on using all the brands of body wash. Nothing exciting about this. At least for me. Posting it as my way to document the products I used. And for the progress of my Pan Project. You know the year is about to end and I want to finish them all.

This is a brand from UK. Available in Centrepoint. Centrepoint is available in all the city centres across the UAE. I wish to give a feedback about the scent but I cannot really remember. I used it just to avoid wasting it. I did not really enjoy it.

Whenever the camera do something like this, I do not know the reason. Even after owning it for 2 years now. Anyway the reason for the post is I bought last year on sale almost 30 pieces eyeshadows from H&M. And there is no way on earth that I can do a Pan Project on those. I am just using them once and then discarding them. Writing a post as memento.

Remember the minimalist photo? Collect memories not stuff. So that is what I am doing even with the most mundane thing in my UAE life. For today I am sharing the photos of H&M Shitake eyeshadow. Cut short the color is brown. Light brown to be exact. And even though my skin color is brown, surprisingly almost all the shades of brown I ever tried looks good on me. Unlike with the blues and greens.

This is the last photo and swatch. It looks very natural on my eyes. And no primer needed. Very good pigmentation and can last for a few hours decently. 7th eyeshadow from my stash if I am counting them correctly. The year is about to end and I am still unsure if indeed I have 30 pieces of it.

So that'a all and thanks for dropping by in my page. For those who wants to go minimalist and don't know where to start, don't worry been there and done that. I know it can gives an anxiety even with the smallest thing. Here's the baby step you can do. Each day spend a few seconds of your time to get rid of something. That is what I have done. Been doing that for more than a year now. I'm not saying that my place is now very pleasing to the eyes. But if one can only see the before and after, it is a very hhhuuggeeee improvement already. Don't pressure yourself too much. Getting rid of an item feels better in time.

Empty Tub #139: Gliss Hair Treatment 🌸

And my 139th Empty Tub is here. Gliss Hair Treatment. I posted photos but sadly I cannot offer any ideas/feedback/reviews. I mean this is just like all the other hair treatments I tried in the past. Or maybe I just have the worst hair type in the world.

Gliss brand is available in Carrefour and the price is around 20.00AED but I got it on sale for around 15.00AED only. Because I have the world's thickest hair that this lasted on me for only 3 days. But as I had been repeatedly saying in the past, the only way to tame my hair is to get a yearly rebond. I have an issue with the thickness. And the only everyday product that works well with my hair is the Cream Silk brand from the Philippines. Any other product I tried makes my hair rough and hard to managed. I kept on trying different products hoping to stumble something like Cream Silk but to no avail.

Impulsive purchased. Never used. So no review/feedback. But most Daiso skin care products I bought in the past were all okay.
