Empty Tube 19: Avene Cold Hand Cream ♚

As I have said I will be back with another empty post and here it is. Avene is a French brand of skin care. In the UAE market it is available in major pharmacies. But be reminded that this is very expensive here. Their selling point is they are using thermal spring water for their products which said to be good and healthy for the skin. I love Avene Emollient Balm and Avene Gentle Toner. And I think I still have at least 2 Avene products in the my stash. But as much as I love those products I feel the opposite regarding Avene Hand Cream. I detest it out of all the hand creams I used.

I don't like this Avene hand cream to the point of hating it as I used it just to avoid wasting the product even though it doesn't feel right in my skin. I purchased it after reading a few reviews from some forums when people said it to be their holy grail. And since I love almost all the Avene products I tried I thought it will be the same with this cold cream for the hands. I wish I have the right words in English to use to describe how it feels on the skin. But I'll try. It feels rough? And the smell. Ugh. Can't stand the smell and I don't understand why it has to smell that way.

For me to be able to finish it I had to mix it up with other creams. Well I don't mind using unscented cream. But in this case it has a scent but resembles to a burnt rubber. Or something as equally as bad as that. Needless to say I would never ever repurchase this even if this would become the cheapest in the market. It boggles me to think that the cold cream for the body does not give off the same kind of smell.

First thing that you need to know is gone are the days that the Turkish Embassy in Dubai is accepting walk ins for visa applications. The new rule will be you have to go online and get an appointment. No appointment ~ they will not entertain you. Gone are the days that you can apply for the tourist visa a week before your flight. Now you should prepare your documents at least one month before as you take your appointment you'll upload those documents in the website. As of the appointment I logged in around May 04, 2016 and the booking I got was May 18, 2016. And you need to wait up to one week to know the result. If your application has been approved or not. So it would not hurt to really prepare in advance the way I did.

April Purchase: Love Me More 💕

Sometime in April when I decided, okay its time to stop purchasing products. Just one day I snapped out it and decided to finally start organizing and decluttering the room. But even so every once in a while I still buy a product or two. Only difference is I'm not hoarding anymore. And even if I buy something new I made sure that there were also items finished up to the last bit. So I'll not create more clutter into an already messy room.

April 20, 2016 ~ I received an SMS from Victoria's Secret UAE that Love Me More body mist and body lotion will launch and the introductory price was 65.00AED. That's 50% off from the normal price. And because I know that the 50% discount rarely happens and I never had any fragrance lotion from Victoria's Secret so went ahead and get myself one. Didn't avail the body mist as I still have at least 8 bottles lying at home.

Maybe what I'm trying to tell here is it will take time for me to really be on FULL STOP in buying. Not unless I will never step foot again on a mall for good. But I had to because the grocery store is inside the mall. And I've no regrets with this Victoria's Secret Love Me More Fragrance Lotion purchase. I'm looking all over the internet to see reviews but to no avail. But as for me I love it! It smelled better than Victoria's Secret Love Me Fragrance Lotion. But only time will tell if I'll repurchase as I never seem to be out of body moisturizer.

Empty Tube 18: Byphasse Hand Cream ♚

An empty bottle thrown a day means one less clutter in my tiny place. And I'm making a progress with uncluttering the room. There are at least 7 months left before the year ends. And no matter how small the clutter that I'm throwing away still it will be a big help in the long run. Aside from cleaning the mess I'm avoiding wasting product too as I'm making sure to use them up to the last bit. While not buying anything yet until such time I finish them all.

It has been months since I purchased and used it up and once again this is another tube lying in the house along with the rest of my stash. As of the price this is the most affordable in the UAE market. As of the moisturizing agents I can say that this is good. As a matter of fact I cannot find any cons with this product. Scent is very subtle. Because for me it has a little hint of vanilla. And that is another one empty bottle down for me.

They announced via Instagram that the DUCK is back. Meaning they are having a massive sale. And since some people are quite addicted to Bath and Body Works that I decided to ask one of them if Aromatherapy and True Blue Spa are included. Sadly these 2 lines were not. The sale is only for the Signature Collection. And once again scents that I don't know or recognize. I became a customer only last quarter of 2015. And unfortunately Signature Collection Line is too sweet for my liking. If I don't personally like it how can I give it away as gifts? I might need to look else where for gifts.

Purchased this last October 2015 or was it November? I can't really remember. Purchased it after I became crazy about Victoria's Secret Deep Softening Body Butter. This hand and body cream is thicker than their lotion but thinner when compared to their body butter. And out of all the Victoria's Secret Fantasy Line variants this is my most favorite scent. As can be seen in the tube below it said to be composed of white cotton and pink lily. 

Price ~ If I were to compare with other brands in the UAE market this is the most affordable. That is if you are going to buy as mix and match. Means you'll get 5 products for the price of 200AED that makes it only 40AED per tube. Or better to wait for their mega sale every January or June and stock up with whatever items you need.

Moisturizing Agents~ I can't say that this is the best the market has to offer. Definitely there would be something better in a much lower price. But it is not bad either. It is moisturizes the skin well. I think in choosing one it will depends on if the product is available in your area, if you like the scent and if it fits your budget.

Scent ~ This gives off a feminine scent. And the packaging looks feminine too. I still have some tubes left at home I think and if I have time I'll take a photo to show that the cream comes in a pale pink color. I love that the scent is floral and sweet but not too strong to give me an headache. And the scent can last up to one hour.

I have a smile on my face whenever I write an empty post because it reflects my progress with my pan project. Meaning I will use whatever products I have and avoid buying new one. Until such time that I finish them all. And aside from that, an empty bottle means one less clutter from the tiny room. And the SALE begins!

I am currently on a NO BUY BAN on almost everything as I'm organizing and decluttering my small room. Finishing off whatever skin care products, make up and toiletries I own while not buying anything. Wearing my old clothes to see if they still fits me well. While avoiding to buy something new. I'm doing so because I want a clutter free house. I want a clutter free life. A clutter free house somehow is pleasant to the eyes therefore can help somehow in having a peaceful mind. And lastly as always I don't have budget for it anymore. I never had anyway. I'm tired now that I'm thinking of what shall I do next year? Should I just go home?

BUT then the sale begins across the UAE..

I don't know what's up with the Centrepoint as they seem to be having a huge discount on most of their items. I don't need anything not unless I gained weight again and thankfully my weight is in control now. But my brother back home who's about to graduate is requesting some jeans and shirts and since I'm not going home for his graduation ~ I feel like I should just heed to his request.

Because sale happens all at once..
My issue will be having a long list. Of items I will purchase but less budget to buy them all. Oh SALE, why does not each shop do it alternately each month?

Boots Pharmacy UAE is having a BUY1, TAKE1 on almost all their items. So I will be in line this weekend because a friend will be having her birthday on June. Initially I was thinking of getting something for myself but then forget about it. I'm used to it anyway. That I can't have everything I want.

Bath and Body Works is having their grand sale. I'm not sure how much and what are the products involved. Again I'll be in line this weekend. But then again not for myself. Christmas gifts for my family. I was about to include friends in the list but then I can't for them now. It has to wait for another month IF I have a budget by then.

I was told at Victoria's Secret that May 24 they'll be having a sale and maybe it will be a huge one. I don't know how affordable it will be and what are the products involve. Luckily my younger sister is not requesting anything from this shop. I'm very much interested in their Weightless Body Oil. But with all the planned purchase mention above I doubt there will still be a budget left for me to buy what I WANT. Yes, I can buy what I want but then how about my grand vacation on August? I haven't purchase a plane ticket yet.

Speaking of my vacation..
I'm not going on vacation for the longest time that I don't even have a travel bag. Nada. Zero. Will go to Dubai Outlet Mall this weekend and hope that there will be something durable but will cost less than 100AED. Otherwise I'll go with whatever I have and that's about to break down anytime soon.

For those who can afford to buy and loves shopping go ahead and take advantage of the sale. For us who can barely make it through the month just SMILE.

See being an OFW is not a walk in the park. But no matter how hard it is for us WE always think about our families back home. We always tend to forget ourselves just so to provide for them. Most of the items I own are just gifts. But whenever I have a little money I think of what my family need back home and trying to afford it. I was touched when someone greeted me on Mother's Day. No I'm not yet a Mother but seems like I am one because of my sacrifices for the family.

Empty Tub 16: One Earth Organics Underarm Cream ♚

One Earth Organics Underarm Cream. This product is not available in the UAE. I got this from an online seller in Qatar. And I forgot exactly how much it cost me. This is one of those products that I purchased and use for a while then kept in the drawer and remember it again later. The finally decided to finish it off to avoid wasting it.

I think it also came with a deodorant and serum but can't find them yet. It is along somewhere with my stash ~ which reminds me that I should really keep on uncluttering the little room. And finish off all the products I have.

I will never purchase this product again. Well One Earth Organics Underarm Cream promises to lighten the armpits and at the same time works as a deodorant (even thought a deodorant is included in the kit). But it did not work as neither of the two. Sadly my money was wasted on this one.

And why I keep on going back to BBW and VS ♥

I now have almost a 100 photos in my camera that I'm about to post here in my blog. But I just don't have time yet to transfer them in my laptop and finally upload them here in my Blogger. But anyway this post is about the reason why I always end of buying skin care products from Bath and Body Works or Victoria's Secret.

 

There was a time that I used to think and say that their products are too expensive. But then I was buying French brands of skin care from pharmacies. But comparing the prices French brands like Avene and La Roche Posay prices are way too expensive than Victoria's Secret or Bath and Body Works. But as months go by I'm realizing that I'm slowly turning away from French brands as well as South Korean brands. And now my stash are mainly from the two said brands that I keep on mentioning.

 

As of Bath and Body Works it is their Aromatherapy line that made me come back to their shop. BUT their edge from other brands would be: they have a SNS accounts. And through their SNS accounts they are always announcing their promotions. Bath and Body Works may be expensive but because of the said promotions it is making them a little affordable for people like me who are on a budget. While Victoria's Secret may not have an SNS account in Middle East at least they are sending SMS. These two shops seem to have a promotion on going alternately.

 

2 weeks ago maybe? Bath and Body Works had this Buy 1, Take 1 promotion. I grabbed the opportunity and get myself their Aromatherapy Body Scrub. I haven't seen any brands like them to have that kind of promo [The BodyShop, The FaceShop, Soap and Glory, L'Occitane, Lush what else?]. While Victoria's Secret may not always have discount like with the Bath and Body Works but they always have this mix and match thing going on the whole year. Choosing Victoria's Secret mix and match will make their prices lower if compared to other brands I mentioned.

 

And speaking of Victoria's Secret they have a line called Body Care Line. Most of the products are discontinued in international market but I have seen some stocks are still available in UAE market. I'm eyeing this one as I'm interested in their body oils and body scrubs. And if my budget will allow me to I'd like to have some luminous cream and body butter. ♥


UPDATE as of May 17, 2016
Last night I checked Bath and Body Works Instagram account and the DUCK is back. Meaning they will have a major sale again. Well the major sale last January left me disappointed as those items that I want where not included in the sale. So I'm hoping to have time this weekend to visit. But no I will not hoard again. I will check them out to see if there's anything that I can buy as gifts.

As this early I'm already buying Christmas gifts for family and friends in the Philippines. Don't judge. I don't have a budget to buy them all at once. So what I'm doing is to buy monthly basis during sale. As for myself I don't deny that there are still some items that I want but the difference between now and then would be I wont hoard. Just a body scrub and body oil for me.

As of Victoria's Secret the Sales Assistant told me to come back on May 24, 2016. They will be having a sale but she's not sure which product. If its their weightless oil then I'll get some for myself. But if its not then I'll let it pass. I already have too many body moisturizers that I'm trying to finish.

Just another tidbits..

In just a few weeks it will mark my 10th year anniversary of being an OFW in the Middle East. It has been a decade since I left the Philippines. But sadly whether I like it or not time will come that I have to go back in my own country. This land will never ever embrace me as one of their own. Well that is another story that I'm avoiding to discuss. But back when I first came here I don't even have a proper luggage. It was just a huge native bag, I wish I have a photo to share right now. I don't even know what it is called. Fast forward after 10 years ~ the girl with just a few earthly possessions now have a clutter at every corner of the room. And that is one of the things in my life now that I am trying to change.

Inventory ~ This is the first step. To write down everything I own. From clothes to beauty products. I started with beauty products only last 2014 and in spite of not having a money seem like I accumulated a lot. Well for me that is a lot since I'm not really using make up on daily basis. And there's a regret on that.

Pan Project ~ Means whatever I have I am using them and making sure that I finish them up to the last drop. Whether it is make up. Skin Care Product. Or even FOOD. Yes there were times that I also hoarded food. Beats me if I know why I have done so. Almost everyday I am posting an Empty Bottle. So I'd say somehow I have a little success in this area. Key Word: Little. Because there are still items that I buy and going to buy. But whatever I'm going to buy are something that I don't have like the massage oils and scrubs.

Decluttering ~ This goes for other goods like shoes and clothes. As well as bags. Well I'm not saying that I have too much that it overflows. I only need a few of those. I either throw them away those that can't be use anymore but just lying around for reasons I don't know. Or hand them down to my younger sister so she won't need to spend money in buying things.

That is my project this year. I'm preparing as if I'm going to leave this place for good. Trying hard to be where I was before. The girl with only one small luggage. There may be things that I love and means a lot to me but I have to let them go now. Isn't it life like that, we are constantly letting go?

Body Washes and Body Gels ♚

Been using bar soaps all my life until I read somewhere last year that body washes or body gels are better than bar soap if you have a dry skin. Which happens to be my skin type. Tried quite a few brands. They are all working fine. Some scents are too strong while some are subtle. But mostly are expensive. Price was the factor why I tried different brands. Hoping to find a dirt cheap but heavenly smelling body wash. Then I had to stop buying altogether because before I know it I was already spending more than I should and my stash was growing fast. Which is not good to think that I have a limited space. And I just cant afford to spend more money anymore. So here I am trying to finish off those stash. Right now if I have to choose only one my vote will go to Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy ~ but it is not included in the photo. But once I'm done I'll try to go back in bar soap again. It is more frugal than these body washes..

Just a quick post for today and not much photos. This is another empty bottle post as I am currently clearing my space and room out of all the mess. By using up whatever products I have. And posting them to see my progress if there is any. As I have said last year I was crazy to hoard too many body washes that I'm still trying to finish. This is an affordable wash and said to be an organic body wash but this is not for me. Right now I'm into Aromatherapy scents. But at least this is another bottle down for me. So okay I purchased this Soap and Glory body wash last April 2015. It was my first time to purchased from Boots Pharmacy. First time as well to purchase a Soap and Glory products. And lastly it was the first time that I had seen Boots Pharmacy having a Buy 1, Take 1 promo. As of this writing I haven't seen them again on another promotion like this. Their usual promotion is buy 3 products for the price of 2. And unlike Bath and Body Works this brand Soap and Glory UAE does not have any Instagram or Twitter account where they can post if they have any upcoming sale or promotion.

I have taken 4 variants of their body wash. But after a year I managed to finish only one bottle. As I have gone crazy last year and hoarded too many body washes. That I'm trying to finish this year. But anyway what caught my attention was the pin up girl from the 60's. And the color. These two gives off the vibes of being girly. Fun. And as the body says with built in body lotion. Means this product is moisturizing aside from having a yummy smell.

If you can read from the side ~ it says creamy and yes it was. Its like a creamy milk. But no photos of that I'm sorry. I used up the product up to the last bit. To make the long story short this is a good body wash. And my concern only is the price. I would not mind buying again ONLY IF I will caught it up again on another buy 1 take 1 promo.

If you must know: I also purchased some products from Soap and Glory but out of all those products for me only their body washes stood out.

To celebrate their 10th birthday Boots Middle East has an on going promotion of Buy 1, Take 1. They said to be 100 products/items on this sale. And as of Shopping Informer even the Ted Baker is now included in the said promo.

The 2015 version of me would get all excited with the Buy 1, Take 1 Promo. So my old self would probably buy all I can buy from Soap and Glory regardless if I still have stocks at home. Just so I can try them out. But the 2016 version of me is much more sensible. I only needed Body Scrub therefore I purchased only Body Scrub. The old me would have purchase all the variants of their Body Scrub but not the new me. So I'm patting myself at the back as someone I can discipline myself.

I wish to visit them again on weekend (we don't have Boots Pharmacy in Ajman) to purchase Ted Baker. But I will not break my NO HOARDING PLAN. I'll just get myself a soufflé and others would go as a gift. It has an elegant packaging that would be nice to give as gift.

Affordables UAE

I was in Al Khail Mall in Al Quoz for the second time last April. And for the first I entered the shop Affordables. I am glad that I need as this shop turned out to be some sort of heaven for me. I can't give up just yet buying pants and shorts but then at the same time I can't afford what the shops in UAE are offering. Discovering this shop is a gem for me. Al Quoz is quite near to Ajman. And Affordables has other branches in Dubai too.

This shop carries mostly European brands in cheaper price. Maybe these are excess stocks. Or maybe old stocks. Out of season stocks. Whatever as I don't care about those things. As long as they are well 'Affordable'. On my first purchased I bought myself a short for only 20AED. Brand is called Mim. Mim is from France.

Some other brands I have seen are Pull & Bear, Berksha, Stradivius, H&M and Mim. Others I can't recall anymore as my time was limited.

Empty Bottle 13: Byphasse Micelle Solution ♚

Back Story: August 2014 when I was introduced to Bioderma Micelle Solution. An almost all around liquid. Meaning it can be used as facial cleanser, make up remover and toner. I do not have any problem with Bioderma Micelle Solution at all except for its price. And they claim of being gentle for the skin is true as well. As can be seen in the list of ingredients water has the highest percentage.

Last year 2015: I found out about Tati Department Store in MCC. That carries Byphasse. Byphasse a Spanish brand of affordable cosmetics. Needless to say I purchased almost all their skin care products because it is far more cheaper if compare to other brands in the UAE market. Especially French brands of skin care products.

The Verdict: Byphasse Micelle Solution is equally good as Bioderma Micelle Solution and as of the price its price is 1/4 only of Bioderma. I cannot think of any cons I could say about this product. Except that it is hard to find. But good if you find it as this is the cheapest of them all.

Tried taking photos of the back of the bottle for those who are interested as to what are the ingredients used. And other product information. Hopefully these photos are passable enough.

Another Byphasse product I am currently using is they Rose Water Toner which I'm about to finish soon. And it is one less bottle down. This post is part of my current project of uncluttering the room. Cleaning up all my mess. Using up all the products I own. Before buying a new one.

But nowadays my need in using Micelle Solution and Toner is becoming less as I don't wear make up anymore. I have given up make up a long time ago. I don't buy make up anymore. Whatever I am using are my old stocks and I'd rather use them than throw then away. And that's all for now. Too many empties post to come in the following days.

Empty Bottle 12: Bioderma Micelle Solution ♚

The back story. I purchased Bioderma Micelle Solution of 100ML for 33.00AED at IBN Sina Pharmacy in Dubai. It was in August 2014. No one suggested it to me I was just roaming around the shop and then it caught my attention as it says to be a make up remover composed mainly of water. Meaning less chemicals hence healthy for the skin. And I fell in love with it upon the first use and so before that month ends I was already in another pharmacy purchasing the biggest bottle.

 

But it has taken me a long time to finish this small bottle as I went ahead and purchased other brands for me to be able to compare if they can compete with Bioderma. And those other brands are much cheaper anyway.

Bioderma Micelle Solution is an expensive brand. And this liquid said to be a cleanser, make up remover and toner. No need to rinse the face after. I just don't know how to explain it BUT even though all the brands of Micelle Solution I tried works properly ~ but this brand seems to have an edge because I feel that this is the most gentle of them all.

For the month of February ~ Aster Pharmacy had a promotion of buy 1, take 1. I purchased the Bioderma Micelle Solution for babies for me to try out if there's a difference between for the babies and for adults. Will try to write about it some other time.

And this is one empty bottle down. For my current project of uncluttering the room. Using whatever products I have before buying anything else. And as you can see based on the photo I'm about to finish the big bottle too.

Empty Bottle 11: Daiso Body Milk ♚

2015 for a few weeks I was always in Daiso at Lamcy Plaza roaming around and making a haul. One of the products I purchased was Daiso Body Milk. And I used it as a hand cream as I already have far too many body moisturizers.

Price: Affordable.
Moisturizing Properties: Fine but not outstanding.
Availability: No longer available in all Daiso branches in UAE.

I'm sorry for those who landed on my page hoping for an in depth review of Daiso Body Milk. I guess if it is available in your area and if you want to try it better just go ahead. First of all this is very affordable. Second to the that, the scent is not bad at all. In fact the scent is good. But quite forgettable. I just can't remember everything has it has been months since I purchased and used it up. But the bottle has been lying around in the flat along with my other skin care products. This post is a part of my project of uncluttering the flat. Ciao ☺

Wish List: Skin Care Products 2 💕

Ted Baker ~ This is a UK brand of clothing and I found out that they also have line of skin care products. The said products are available in Boots Pharmacy in UAE. Well I don't know how it smells. But I have seen numerous posts in Instagram from South Korea and Japan. They seem to love it. And that caught my interest. Packaging looks luxurious. And for those who are interested price starts at 55AED. I'll just wait when they will have a buy 1, take 1 promo. I would love to try the body wash and body soufflé.

Laura Mercier ~ Another French brand on the list. This is another high end brand available in Dubai Mall. As per their international website the body soufflé I have my eyes on would cost around 240AED while the body butter would cost around 140AED. But knowing the UAE market the prices for sure will go up. If you are here to shop only then you'll understand that the international prices versus the prices here seems to be having a huge gap. Especially for well known products or favorites. I'm just wishing it anyway. Maybe I will only get to try it if I am in France and there are some shops offering it in discounted price.

And Other Stories ~ I'm not sure if this is from US or from France but based on the photos it looks like form France to me. Mainly clothes but they have skin care products too. Those skin care products I usually see in Instagram and once again mostly from Japanese and South Korean Instagrammers. I have no idea what it smells like. Packaging are simple but the names of the scents sounds good to me. And so I wish to try them. But it is not available in UAE and even if it is I'm too sure the price will be very high.

Sabon ~ This is a brand from US. Looks like high end brand. I often see these in Japanese Instagram users. Looks fun. Sounds good. This is not available in UAE. But then I can only wish. That's why it is called wish list. Who knows someday I might be able to visit Japan or US. I will surely pick up something from this shop.
 

Laline ~ Another US brand of skin care and almost the same with Sabon. Looks popular in some Asian countries too. Also not available in UAE market. Again I am not sure about their prices.
