Quest For The Perfect Cream

It was first quarter of 2014 when I became aware of these creams. Yes I am waayyyy too late as I don't wear make up. I don't use foundations. Can't seem to find my shade and making my white heads worst. I decided to start using make up when my sun spots started appearing :( Bloggers and online forums have nothing but good words for BB and CC Creams that I decided to give it a go. Spending a lot than I usually would have in order to find the right cream that would suit me. Out of all the creams I tried my vote goes to Missha BB Cream, Skinfood BB Cream, Bourjois CC Cream and lastly Garnier. But the new Garnier designed for combination skin and non comedogenic. 

Beauty Products From Manila

Some of the beauty products I purchased last year during my brief vacation in Manila. Used some of them, while some are still tuck away in the drawer. As much as I want to support Philippine Products sadly only few are being exported. None of these are available in UAE Market. Shipping fee from Manila to UAE would cost a fortune. I can only wish that one day Philippine Products can be as popular like Japanese and Korean..

Daiso Product #6: Charcoal Cleansing Cream

Photos above are taken using Pentax Q7 and it was daytime so there's still some 'natural' light peeking through the window of the house. While my post about Daiso Charcoal Natural Pack Mask were taken using iPhone6 at night . This is what I don't like about the Pentax Q7 too much noise in the photos. Now back to the product  ~ I can't say if this product is popular or do a lot of girls even know it exists? As the blog posts I find about it were all from 4 years ago.  It is called cleansing cream. This is included in their Charcoal Line Products. And it is not available in at least 4 branches of Daiso UAE that I visited recently. Don't confuse it with their other product called Daiso Charcoal Cleansing Foam which I will write in a separate post.

This is a gray cream that's meant for removing dirt and especially make up. All you have to do is to gently rub the cream to your face and again gently wipe it off using a tissue. It feels oily in the skin which reminds me of those cleansing oil make up removers though I never tried one. This is designed for double cleansing our face at night. So it is recommended to wash the face after using their Daiso Charcoal Cleansing Foam. Upon applying it on the face there's a cooling and slightly stinging sensation but it is bearable and in a good way. Making you feel that it is really working towards your skin. Will repurchase when it becomes available again.

Before you scroll down the photos let me say that they were all taken using an iPhone (am I saying that to all my posts with photos?) ~ I am sorry if ever that I keep on repeating myself I am just amazed that the phone can take a close up photos better than my current camera. I have taken this photos at night. My camera can only capture good images if there is enough natural light. So here it is:

I am not sure when this charcoal thing in skin care products came out or where it started. But seems like it is quite popular in Asian Products. I'm not aware or updated with this kind of things. As usual I bought the product at Daiso even before reading reviews/blogs/write ups about it. And so they say that charcoal is good in removing dirt from the face. That this Daiso Charcoal Natural Pack Mask is a good one. If it is good enough for others well it could be good enough for me, right? And my usual thinking that what will I lose in trying anyway?

The good thing is it doesn't seem to run out of stock at all the Daiso Stores in UAE that I visited. Then it is very affordable. One tube takes a long time for me to finish as I use it once a week only. Yes I do agree that it takes away the dirt and impurities at my face. But the downside is, it can be drying on my skin. I have combination and aging skin. I ended up using it only in my nose and chin area. But then it doesn't seem to help in taking away my white heads 100%.

I am not too happy with it because I thought it will help regarding with my whiteheads but it isn't. But still I will include it in my routine. Since it cleans the skin and might be a big help in unclogging the pores in the long run. And if there's anything else I'll just update this post. And that's all for now.

Daiso Product #4: Ever Bilena Clear Mascara

I am just a little confused with the name Ever Bilena as I have always known it as a Philippine Brand of Cosmetics. Anyways, I purchased this mascara as I read a lot of good reviews about Daiso Mascaras. But those reviews were about the black ones. But I don't use black. So I opted for this clear mascara. Well, it was not a good choice. It doesn't do anything. I can't even get the product from the tube how much more into making it stay on my eyelashes? It is more of a water than gel. And no, this is not an eyelash primer. If it is then the label would say so. Maybe next time I'll just try the black mascara that others were raving about.

Instant Itsuki Ramen Seafood

Simple and easy meal for lunch. Boil water. Cook  seafood for 3 minutes. Add the Instant Itsuki Ramen and cook for 2 and 1/2 minutes. Add the sauce. Just add some egg and chicharon. Voila! Lunch is ready.

Instant Itsuki Ramen With Cod Roe Sauce

I know the photo is not appealing but this is one of the best simple and easy meals I ever had. Just boil the water and cook the ramen in 2 and half minutes, Instant Itsuki Ramen from Japan. It is supposed to be a ramen soup, meaning with liquid. But I removed the liquid and didn't use the sauce. Instead I use the Cod Roe Sauce. I was hesitant at first as I was not aware about the Cod Fish as well as the Cod Roe. It has taken me a long time to try this as I was thinking why would I use a fish for my spaghetti? Filipino Spaghetti is sweet and fish would mean salty. And I am glad that I tried. Yes it is salty but in a good way. I love it. It is not included in the list of my favorites. The only downside is Cod Roe Sauce is expensive.

First let me share the photos. All are taken using iPhone as I have given up already with my Pentax Q7. Which always remind me I need to buy a decent camera as soon as my budget allows me to do so.

Japanese people are known to value their reputation and if once ruined there are even people who will take their lives. Remember the Harakiri in their culture? With this in mind I do trust Japanese products even if they are drugstore brands like Daiso. That's why I am not afraid to buy and try different items from them. They may not work all the time as they promises to be but at least I know I wouldn't land in the hospital or harm myself from them. 

I admit that upon seeing this sole sap sheet (again) I don't know what it is for. I just think they are cute. I haven't seen them before. Only from Daiso. They claim it to be a detox pad. Meaning you just apply it at the sole of your feet while you sleep and the sheet will absorb the toxins out of your body. I just can't easily believe it. And I am thinking how it is possible but then what will I lose in trying anyway? I just trust it for being a Japanese product.

Aside from the foot you can use this detox pad to other parts of your body. As I was writing this post my shoulder was aching that I decided to try it on. Unfortunately I was not able to stick it properly. And this was the result after 6 hours or so. See the dirt? It was not there before. Honestly I didn't feel anything afterwards. Still it is a puzzle for me if indeed it really absorbs the 'toxic' from my body. I will try it out again some other time. As of now I can't say yet that this works for me or not. I got this for free from the lady at UNE (unfortunately when I came back she's not there anymore not sure if the new lady will give any freebies). I got the right shade. It blends well. Not too heavy on the face. The kind that I can wear on daily basis. 

I wish I have words to explain further but my mind is not fully working right now. So I will just let the above photos speak for the product. Lastly I think all the products from Bourjois and Une are Oil Free. And a little info: Bourjois aside from Une owns Chanel too.

Muji in UAE

If you come on this page to see a review or series of photos from the store Muji well ~ I am sorry disappoint you. There aren't any. Muji as we all know is a Japanese store of no brand items like clothing. I have been seeing their store since last year. The store as well as the items all look good. But I find them quite expensive. From the stationary items to clothes to skin care products.. EVERYTHING.. This what makes me patronize Daiso even more. But I will see if they will have a sale and if the sale can compete with other shops.

It's good to know that there is a Japanese Grocery Store in UAE. But it is located in one of the busiest parts of Dubai. That is their one and only shop. The shop is called Dean's Fujiya. Located in Karama near Lamcy. Just ask Google for the GPS location :)

Ahhhh the good and bad thing about living in Ajman. The house rent is cheaper [but doesn't equate as affordable] than in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. But in terms of grocery items we are missing a lot. While Dubai 'almost' have it all. If only UAE has trains and metro that will connect all the Emirates just like in other countries. Wishful thinking.

I found this Miso Paste only in Dean's Fujiya. For soup or salad and other dishes. But I mainly use it on soups. That's it for now. Ciao!
 

Drugstore Skin Care Products

I am not exactly crazy about skin care products but then I end up buying more items than I intended to. I am not after making my skin whiter but I want to try even for the last time if there is still a solution out there to make my dark spots caused by the sun to vanish. Purchased items at the last day of February [translation: pay day]. I already tried an expensive serum but to no avail. Now I will try these drugstore brands. Hopefully one of them will work for me. But I don't plan on using them all at once. Will first research if the ingredients are compatible with one another. I wonder if I am the only one who has this concern about sun spots???

Daiso Product #2: Ellefar Water Pack Jelly

At first I don't have any idea what is the use of Water Pack Jelly but it sounds good and interesting. And the price is affordable so upon seeing it at Daiso MCC I purchased all their stocks. There were 12 of them. I got home and immediately asked Google. Seems like this is a dupe for the popular and expensive Cure Aqua Gel from Japan. I won't be able to compare as the Cure Aqua Gel is not available in the UAE. There are some online sellers that offers it but will cost around 200.00AED or more. The price is what is holding me back. And after using this Daiso Water Pack Jelly I don't feel the need anymore to try the Cure Aqua Gel.

It is an exfoliator that claims to peel the dead skin from the face. It is unscented and you have to use it on your dry face. Rub it in and you'll see the 'dead skin' peeling away ~ but honestly I don't buy that. I don't believe that the little lumps on my face are actually the dead skin. I believe it is the product. Changing colors from clear gel to white/grayish color. It is just a marketing ploy for people to be interested. Even if it is not really peeling away the dead skin in my face I still love it and will continue to use it. It is safe to use daily but as of the moment I don't as it is hard to find in Daiso UAE. I had been checking other branches of Daiso with no luck.

After using Daiso Water Jelly Pack I can really feel that my face is cleaner. But that is not the main reason why I love using it. I already have enough facial cleansers and facial wash for cleaning my face. This product helps me a lot in the process of removing the white heads in my nose. After using I can see that all the white heads are visible  that the nose pore strip is able to remove at least 90% of them.

Got myself a new camera so I would just like to share a few photos. In case you want to look for it at the nearest Daiso to your place. I'm still struggling with the close up photos and uses mainly Aperture mode of my camera.
