Love

Empty Bottle 1: Avene Cold Cream

Eau Thermale Avene Cold Cream
Can't remember the price anymore. I asked a friend to buy it for me when she went to Paris last December 2014. In the UAE market the price will be around 200AED or so but since it was purchased directly from France, the price was lesser. And I so love seeing an empty bottle in the house. It means that my hard earned money did not go to waste as I managed to finish the product. Planning to finish all my stocks this year.

Avene's Cold Cream is quite a mystery to me due to its smell. This large bottle of body lotion smells 'natural' to me while the cold cream that's meant for the hand reeks of chemical smell and feel. This moisturizes the skin well while the hand cream makes me feel that my hands are rubber of some sort.  That makes it hard for me to finish the hand cream and I'm planning to mix it with others.

This is perfect for people with sensitive skin as this brand mostly uses spring water which said to be good for the skin. Will I repurchase? The answer is NO. Because of the price. I purchased other brands that works the same but in a more reasonable amount. And lastly as the life keeps on getting harder living frugally is really a must.

Empties Part 5

Empty Bottles!!!
I just happen to be at home and cleaning up the room again. And so taking some photos to share before throwing them out. As of the creative photography I gave given up on it a long time ago. Just having a clear photos like this one is enough.
Nectar of Nature Conditioner
Price: 2.00AED (Buy 1, Take 1)
From Carrefour
Nectar of Nature is a brand from France that aims to produce affordable products to every household. I got it on sale that's why it is so cheap. But the normal price is less than 10AED for a bottle of 200 ML which is not a bad price at all. It is still affordable even on the usual price. I wish I could share a sensible review about this product but there's not much for me say. It is not a bad product but I have such a bad hair meaning shampoo and conditioner are not enough. It smells good. Have softening effect on the hair and that's it.
Bath and Body Works
French Lavender and Honey Body Wash
Price: 60.00AED (Buy 1, Take 1)
I will not buy from Bath and Body Works not unless they are on sale or having a promo like that. I waited for their promo for Dubai Shopping Festival for the month of January but I was disappointed. Yes scented candles were only 22AED but for at least two variants only. Some body mists and body wash were available for only 15AED. My point is the sale items were the ones that no one would usually choose when it is on normal price. Scents I have never even seen before! SO it is better to wait for them to have a buy 1 take 1 again rather than grab from the supposed to be biggest sale of the year! But anyway my interest in their body washes are waning.

As of this scent French Lavender and Honey honestly I have never seen or smell a French Lavender so I can't compare if it is indeed smells like one. As of the honey I think yes there was a hint of honey as the smell is sweet. But this will not be in my 'favorite' list and will not purchase again. This is too sweet for my liking and expensive.
Wakilala Bright Up Essence
Price: 60.00AED
Made in Japan
I'm not too sure if I have written a separate entry about Wakilala Bright Up Essence or has it been included before in my previous Empties post. First of all this is not available in the UAE market. Most of the Japanese products with the exception of Daiso are not available in the UAE anyway. The only brand that I know of that you can find here are Sheishido (did I spell it correctly?) and SK II ~ both are insanely expensive. Damn. There are woman like me who can't afford those you know.

I got this one from a trusted IG seller in spite of being expensive. This is an essence solely made for underarms. They are marketing it as an underarm whitener. But it doesn't whiten the skin. But I love it as after a day at work rub it in the armpits using a cotton you'll see the dirt being removed. Plus I love its cooling effects. I still have a bottle I think. Will not repurchase for now. Not because it is a bad product and in fact I love it. But I am at the point of saving all the money I have as I'm not yet giving up on the goal of getting out of this place. The sooner the better, before I go insane.
That's all for now. I have posted more photos but while writing it got deleted. And it would take me ages again before I can have a time to take a few snap shots. Sigh!

The Face Shop Haul

Goodbye January.
Hello February.
Sadly the supposed to be UAE Winter is over. Well I feel that it is over way back on the last week of December. It was cold only for at least 3 weeks. Because this kind of cool weather that we are having right now is 'normal' back home when it is rainy season. It has been a decade since I landed here in the place where it is hot most of the time. I am not losing hope that one day I will be in a place where it is cold mostly.

But today I am not writing this post just to complain about the weather. Haha. This is about the mini haul from The Face Shop UAE. Well almost everyone knows about Korean Skin Care and Cosmetics but only a few shops are available outside South Korea. In fact The Face Shop is the only Korean Cosmetic Shop here in UAE. I'm surprised to find out that they actually have a branch in Ajman. Yes in Ajman. A place that most shops across the UAE tend to ignore. That I'm really surprised whenever I find a shop that I would usually find only in Dubai.

Last day of January they were on sale for 25% discount and it's better than no discount at all so I went ahead and shed some hard earned dirhams. And here's my loot.

The Face Shop Moisturizing Shampoo
The Face Shop Moisturizing Conditioner
The Face Shop Herb Tea Body Wash
The Face Shop Herb Tea Body Lotion
Each travel size of tube would cost 6.00AED but that day they have an ongoing promotion that if I will spend 150.00AED I'll get these items for free. Since I don't know when the next sale will be so I grabbed the chance. At least I'll be able to try them out.

The Face Shop Green Tea Facial Mask
I don't know how much it will cost as I didn't check their face masks ~ maybe it was just my lucky day as the Sales Assistant has given it to me for free. Which I gladly accepted. But don't know when will I actually use it.

The Face Shop Perfumed Body Milk
Price: 56.75AED
I know I still have way too many bottles of unfinished lotions at room but I can't pass the chance of trying it out. Definitely no regrets. And because of this body milk I'm planning to try out their other variants if given a chance ~ meaning if they will go on sale again and I happen to have an extra money or it is pay day! I'm already on my 3rd day using it. Well I am loving it because compared to others this one doesn't take time to sink in to my skin so no greasy or wet feeling. As every time I have to put on clothes immediately. I didn't expect that I would actually find a lotion that works that way. The only downside is the PRICE.

The Face Shop Hair Gel
Price: 18.75AED
I don't know what I was thinking. Out of all the hair products available and mostly discounted I picked it up. What I needed is something to make my hair softer or smells good after cooking during lunch break. But instead I have taken this. I'm already at home when I realized my mistake. And opened the one bottle. For now I'll keep it and send it to my brother in Manila on my next  cargo.

The Face Shop Green Tea Cleansing Foam
Price: 30.00AED
Well all the facial cleansing foam in the market were all made to clean the face and all of them can do the job so how do we choose from thousands of them? Depends on the budget. Depends of the scent. And depends on the compatibility in your skin type. As of the price it is expensive for me but comparing to the market it is actually on the same price range with others. Skin compatibility? I am combination skin. And it doesn't dry me out. So that's fine with me.

The Face Shop Charcoal Cleansing Foam
Price: 30.00AED
Just another variant of their cleansing foam and it works fine with me. I wouldn't mind trying out the other variants BUT only if they will go on sale.

Over all I enjoyed my experience at The Face Shop in Ajman. The place is small but neat. Not much crowd. SA's are not annoying. It was on sale. As of the products with the exception of the price ~ I love most of it. Which makes me want to try others. Well I am into body wash and body lotion. And that's all folks! Thanks for dropping by.
