Love

"Whenever I watch romantic movies, witness couples kiss and make up, listen to love songs.. I smile and feel good 'cause I know that love still works, if not for me, at least to others." - Ally McBeal

GEORGE CARLIN's Message

Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate.

    A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways
, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

If you don't send this to at least 8 people....Who cares?

Byphasse Hair Mask

Byphasse Hair Mask
Retail Price: 25.00AED [500ML]
Sale Price: 18.00AED
Available at Tati Mirdif City Centre
Made in EU
Byphasse is a Spanish brand of cosmetics with the goal of providing affordable products for all. And in the UAE market it is available in Tati Department Store. Tati on the other hand is a French department store with the same goal as Byphasse. Hence, all the products in the said store are inexpensive. But Tati has only one branch in UAE and it is located in Mirdif City Centre.

I'm not into hair masks but I purchased it anyway just to experience it and since it was on sale. It is very simple to use. Just after the shampoo and conditioner wash your hair and apply the Byphasse hair mask. Leave on for a few minutes then rinse.
The results? I did not notice any difference in my hair. Maybe because this tube lasted for only a few days for me. Or just maybe it is my hair. I always have a full and coarse hair that is quite hard to handle. Maybe it will work better for those with thin or fine hair.

Daiso Product #14: Pouch

Daiso Clear Pouch
Price: 7.00AED @ Daiso UAE
Made in China

I now have more than 30 tubes of lipsticks if I am not mistaken that I decided to get myself a pouch so I can bring some of them at work and can keep on retouching. It's easier to spot/grab them from the messy bag of mine if they are in the pouch. Normally I would have opted for a leather pouch as leather can live forever even when I am gone. But then genuine leather is not so popular in the UAE market as I don't see them often. It's just all about colors and designs. Some shops offer leather products but with price as high as the sky and comes in black or brown only. Old good Fossil leather accessories is not even around. Sigh!

So instead of leather pouch I bought myself a clear plastic type. Looked for a few shops and other shops offer unbelievable price. It's just made of plastic for crying out loud. Good thing is reliable Daiso is there when you need something for a pocket friendly price. And here's my inexpensive Daiso clear pouch:
Kawaii!! Isn't it?
Thanks for dropping by!
Till next time.

iWhite Nose Pack

For those who doesn't want to read long introductions and want to know if this product works.. the answer is YES! That's why I am sharing it with you (But then even those products I don't like and doesn't work I also share about them with you all). And I love it ~ the iWhite Nose Pack I mean.

And now scroll down if you want to see more photos and hear my story. But then don't expect astonishing photos as they were taken for around 2 minutes during my lunch break. In photography I realized that if I want to be good then I must bring my camera all the time as inspiration or good moments might strike anytime. And I must stop and look around me and appreciate the whatever beauty is there. But then I'm always rushing that I failed to see what's in front of me or about my surroundings. I had been taking photos for 6 years now or more but still no improvement at all. If ever that my photos are clear then the credit goes to the good camera and not to my skills/ability. One must spend time if he wants to be good at it (photography) and even when I take these photos I don't give enough time as there's no time left actually. In the end I don't think anymore for proper photography composition to make them appealing. And now back to the product:
iWhite Nose Pack
Whiteheads and Blackheads Remover
Price: 189.00PHP @ Watsons Philippines
Made in Korea
Admittedly before I don't really appreciate this product. Because what I was expecting was not possible. I always wanted to have a nose that's 100% free from whiteheads. That I spent money trying out different products which in the end bring same results. I was left with empty pocket and frown upon my face. I even came to the point of using Benzoyl Peroxide from Galderma which brought nothing but red nose and dry skin that lasted for more than 2 weeks. and did not even remove any whiteheads. Only then I realized that there's no way on earth to have what I wanted. Only then I realized how good my nose strips and iWhite Nose Pack are.

Sometimes I am still tempted to try out other brands but their prices and availability are preventing me to order online. I'm at the phase of my life now that I want to save whatever money I have and spend less on products. I want to prepare for my future. As it will not be forever that I am an OFW here in UAE. Sweeties I'm sorry that I keep on talking about me when I should have been talking about the product only. Apologies after all this blog is an online diary than a beauty blog. Beauty products happened to be a little part of my life. I'll be sharing the ingredients of this product below but it doesn't mean that I understand them or I do mind. Now I just listen to my skin. If it will irritate the skin or not.
iWhite Nose Pack is available in Watsons and other grocery stores like SM and Robinsons. If you are in the Metro Manila you'll find it easily. I'm not sure if this is exclusive for the Philippine market or its available outside the Philippines. I am in the UAE and so far I haven't seen it in any Filipino grocery stores here. This actually a Korean brand as stated at the back of the tube. But out of all the Korean brands I have tried it doesn't seem to be popular among Korean beauty aficionados which puzzles me at times to think how affordable it is compared to others. If converted to AED its only 15.75AED while other Korean nose products I want to try costs 50.00AED and above. You might think that a tube of 50g is quite small but then let me tell you that it will last for months even if you use it four times a week.
This is made of white cream like liquid as opposed to black charcoal I am using from Daiso. I tried applying a very thin layer and it was not able to get rid the whiteheads on my nose. Applied product thickly on the nose made it run down and wasted as I had to wipe it away. Just make sure that it is not too thin or too thick when applied on the nose to make it work.
Active Ingredients [they all sounds good]: Mulberry Root Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Aloe Vera Leaf Extract, Vitamins A, C, E. Alcohol is included in the list but perhaps in a small quantity only. In spite of this having alcohol it does not feel drying to my skin. So I don't mind it at all. Besides after each usage I moisturize my face.

Before using it I love to exfoliate my face especially the nose area with Daiso Water Pack Jelly which is quite similar to Cure Aqua Gel. I think that part helps.
Let me write the details if you can't see it properly. It says that the product is manufactured by reBom Cosmetics Co. Ltd. in Korea. Exclusively distributed by Biocostech Phils. Corp. And yes I Googled it for me to know if they have other wonderful products.
And that's all for now..
Thanks for dropping by..
(And I go back into watching Zettai Kareshi)

Empties Part 4

Taken and uploaded these photos using a phone. Then went ahead to use my laptop to type but I had to add more photos so I used the phone again. The result? The previous words I typed were deleted. Used the phone as it is easier to use than my camera and upload the photos from the memory card plus the camera photos would suck at this current condition and lighting. Hopefully it will not get deleted again this time around. And I was able to take photos before I threw out everything. I had to clean up a little as these empty tubes/bottles has been lying in the bathroom for quite some time now and I don't own the flat. I have housemates you know! I love posting empties as this mean that I finished off what ever purchased I have done up to the last drop. Meaning my money did not go to waste.
Moving on the first empty bottle is the Byphasse Shampoo. I don't know if it is the water or the weather or my hair but up to this day I never have a shampoo that I will go crazy about. I mean all the shampoos I used have the same results. They clean my hair nicely but always leave my hair tangled and rough to touch. That I need to use a conditioner after and even in conditioner there's only one brand that works well for me. The only edge this Byphasse shampoo has is the price. I got this 1 litre of shampoo for only 17.00AED and not sure if they increased the price by now. Byphasse is a Spanish brand and it is available in Tati Department Store at Mirdif City Centre.
I was so gaga over Japanese products that when I saw this at Daiso in Lamcy Plaza I bought immediately. It's called Nano Moisture Extracts. The selling point is it has collagen placenta and elastin that they say good for the scalp. But not too sure now if I got it for only 7.00AED or 14.00AED. I can't find any reviews about it. It is not a shampoo nor a conditioner but it is a scalp care. It is black in color and doesn't foam or bubbles. Just a black liquid. Must use the product after shampoo and conditioner. The verdict? I did not feel any change in my hair or scalp at all. I finished it as I hate throwing away products that I purchased.
Next is Daiso Charcoal Cleansing Foam. This is available in all Daiso shops across the UAE for only 7.00AED per tube. This is a facial cleanser which charcoal is the main ingredient. And they say that charcoal is good for the skin. In removing dirt and impurities. Out of all the Daiso products I purchased this is something that I will keep on patronizing. It is very gentle in the skin. Cleanses well without drying my skin. I would definitely recommend this to all who wants to try a Daiso skin care product. I'm thinking of writing a separate post for it but I don't have much t0 say anymore but again on the separate post I could upload photos for other to be familiar on how it looks like (the tube) when they want to search for it.
Next is Daiso Almond Peeling Gel. This is an Asian counterpart of facial/skin scrub but it is not harsh like the others being sold in the market. It is in fact very gentle on the skin and made up mostly of water with fruit/plant extracts. I got this one at Daiso in Dubai Mall. Not available in other branches I have seen. For those who loves scrub but want a gentle one then I will definitely recommend this. I am using it whenever I will use Daiso Charcoal Nose Strips. Honestly I don't feel that my skin is totally clean after using it (how to feel it anyway?) but I swear by it because I can see that almost all the white heads on my nose are sticking in the nose strips compared to when I did not use it.
And here comes another Japanese product called Wakilala Armpit Scrub! This is not available in UAE market. I got it through an online seller for 60.00AED. The most expensive item that I have in this post. They are marketing it as an underarm whitener. But if you want to whiten your armpits I would suggest that you go directly to a dermatologist rather than spending money on products like this. All my life I have used too many whitening products (and that is another story) and none of them works. I am still morena from head to foot.

I haven't seem much any blogs/forums about this product. But even if it doesn't whiten the skin does not mean it is a bad product. It is just too expensive. More expensive from the facial scrub that I am using. It is a good body scrub as you can use it other parts of your body. If you can afford it go ahead and try it and love the citrus scent. And sometimes cooling sensation. But I don't think I'll be purchasing again. As my goal is to save money so I can leave soon enough.
Ahh it is not easy being a woman, isn't it? As we have way too many products!!! But this year I'm trying my best to lessen them for various reasons. Up next is wax strips called Nectar of Nature. Well for me almost all the wax strips being sold in Carrefour are the same. The only difference would be the price tag. And so the only reason why I have chose Nectar of Nature is this is the most affordable in Carrefour. A box would cost between 8.75AED to 10.75AED. And there was a time that it was on sale at Mirdif City Centre for only 1AED or 2AED per box and I made sure to hoard! Just too bad I'm about to finish them all soon.

The ones I got are underarm/bikini wax strips and facial wax strips. But I am actually using them on my legs and if you are wondering why? Hehe. I am a short Filipina. My height is just around 5 feet. So they are just enough on my legs. Than the big ones! Why women has to wax their legs anyway when it is acceptable for men to have hair legs? There are times that I get so busy that I forget to wax.
And the last product for this post ~ Daiso Pore Strips (Rey Valera is singing on the background while I'm typing these words.. How I wish I can see that guy again on a concert #WishfulThinking).. Again I'd say that all the nose strips I used in the past are all the same. Meaning they all works. The only reason why I switched to Daiso Charcoal Nose Strips is the price. A box has 4 nose strips and it would cost only 7.00AED and available at all Daiso stores. And I wish they will not increase their prices this year or anytime soon. Of course the marketing strategy is telling us women/people that charcoal is good for the skin blah blah blah..

I wish I can give up using nose strips but no matter what I do I always have white heads so giving it up is out of the question. This is Made in Korea and doesn't we all trust products that are Made in Korea when it comes to beauty products? On my next trip to Daiso I have to make sure to stock up.
Once again thank you so much for visiting my page. If you have any questions just please leave a comment below.. And since this is my online diary let me be a drama queen now.. For those who doesn't want to read sad stories skip this now..

I had been working for 9 years now in the same company. And since last year I was having mixed emotions. But none of them were happiness. I feel that in the span of those years I have given my best in the company in so many ways that I know. I understand that we really should give our best in our job. But what I meant was I cared too much that I have given too much. Don't mean to confuse anyone. But here are the examples of what I have done in the past. During those years that the workshop was new and not much staff available. But the workload is too much.

There were times that I spent only 5 to 10 minutes on my lunch break as I can't wait to go back on my seat and try to finish the work. There were times that the service bus left without me as there are things I had to finish. There were times during Ramadan that working hours was up to 2PM only but I stayed until 6PM and there is no such thing as over time pay as I want to finish a lot of things. In fact for so many years I did not use up my leave days. I was all work and no play. Now that I am old, I am foolishly expecting the company/management to be a little lax on me. I don't have any intention of abusing anyone. But with this age comes so many things. The midlife crisis. The loneliness. The body pains. The depression. But then the sad part is I have to work too much more than ever in spite of whatever I am experiencing with my body or personal life. For them it is just about business. And if anyone can't take it anymore, just hand them over the resignation. Nowadays just one mistake and the manager's eyes are on me. But doesn't really see what the others are doing.

I AM HUMAN. I have a HEART. I am EMOTIONAL. More than ever I feel like that I don't really belong. I had to leave my own country as the world knows the chaos that is happening back home. Traffic. Poverty. And so many things. I landed here. But every where I turn or look there's only one message. I am not from here therefore I don't belong. I can't go back home but I can't stay here either. That is the most saddest of all. So I am wishing that in the remaining years of my life I can still go somewhere to work. I'm sorry that I have to just write it down in a blog. But this is my therapy. As tomorrow I need to wake up. Go to office. Smile as if nothing is wrong with me and work until my arms ache again.

Victoria's Secret Love Spell

Just a few months ago (was it two months?) I received Victoria's Secret Sheer Love Deep Softening Body Butter and I fell in love with it not only because of the scent but because out of all the moisturizing products I owned this is the best there is. As absorbs quickly by the skin in spite of being thick like a butter. And so I thought that other products of Victoria's Secret would be just a good too. So there was a time last year that as soon as I received my salary I spent a fortune to get other products as can be seen the photo below.

Each product costs 70.00AED but I have taken 5 products as 5 would costs 200.00AED making each 40.00AED. I did not hesitate picking up Victoria's Secret Love Spell as this is the most popular scent according to some forums and even from the sales assistant at the shop. And anyway Cherry Blossoms smell good, don't they? To make the long story short if I could turn back the time I wouldn't buy it. As soon as I started using the body butter I hated it. At first it's okay but as soon as the product sinks in the scent becomes strong and it is like a strong chemicals gone bad. Just to avoid wasting it I have given the body lotion and body cream to my cousin and as of this writing she hasn't received it yet and when she does only then I'll know if it is just me or this scent really is off.

Victoria's Secret Sheer Love Body Butter

Whew it's hard to believe but finally it is another year! It's 2016. New Year. But everything stays the same. My work. My life.  The lifestyle. And this post has been sitting in my draft since last year. This blog is an online diary of mine that reflects my UAE life and I haven't written anything for ages meaning I just get so busy that I don't have time anymore for anything else.. It is just all about work and no play. Well today's topic is about Victoria's Secret Sheer Love Body Butter which has been given to me months ago. I would have never known about body butters nor will I be interested if someone did not give it to me. Just too bad I don't have any photo of the cream and if I will plan to take one I know it will take weeks for me to do so. Let me just share with you what it looks like and my experience/feedback/review about it.
Victoria's Secret launched skin care products called Victoria's Secret Fantasies. The line has many variants so if you are not a fan I doubt that you'll get to know them all or keep a track on them. When I visited their shop in Dubai I think I have seen at least a dozen. Sheer Love is one of the variants and the scent is made of White Cotton and Pink Lily. The only White Cotton that I know of is the one I'm using in my face when I have to remove my make up. As of the Pink Lily for sure I have see this flower but it has been more than a decade that I can't remember anymore the scent it gives.

Victoria's Secret Sheer Love Deep Softening Body Butter comes in pink plastic tube. And the cream is light pink also. I call it simple but not so cutesy unlike Japanese and Korean products (sorry for comparing) ~ but then this tube is sturdy and that's what matters. And I love pink anyway!

As of the price it is pretty expensive as the tube would cost 70.00AED if you want it on a lesser price you can buy 3 items that would cost 145.00AED only or buy 5 items that would cost 200.00AED only. Even with those option I still find it expensive!!
Now for my feedback. Comparing it to all the body lotions, creams and body butter I used when it comes to moisturizing there is nothing special to it. Other products that I own can do the same job for less price. BUT still I love it and prefer it anytime. As of the scent ~ sadly I can't remember the scent of Pink Lily but then I just love it. As it is not too strong and it lingers for a while. The cream is thick that looks like a mousse. Looks hard  but soft to touch and absorbs by the skin quickly.

What I don't like about lotions ~ is after applying onto skin my skin would feel wet and so its uncomfortable once I wear my clothes. Sometimes it is making my clothes stick to my skin. Feels like I need a lot of time to wait for it to sink in so there are times that I skip putting on a lotion. Who has an extra time anyway? But it is different when using this body butter that I don't mind putting it on twice a day on daily basis. That way I don't skip on moisturizing my skin. I wonder how they have done it producing a cream so thick but doesn't feel heavy on the skin and I haven't seen any brand that is close enough to it.
So this Victoria's Secret Deep Softening Body Butter is my holy grail when it comes to moisturizing my skin. Even though it is expensive I was willing to spend that amount as it is comfortable for me to use and I love the scent as well. But here comes the sad part. Victoria's Secret discontinued their VS Fantasies Body Butters the same time that I discovered/started using it. I can't find any forum/articles that states the reason why they have done so. I just saw a tweet from an employee that said it has been discontinued. Victoria's Secret still have a body butter but in coconut variant if I'm not mistaken and I don't like coconut. That's all for now. Thanks for dropping by and till  next time. Ciao!
