Love

"Whenever I watch romantic movies, witness couples kiss and make up, listen to love songs.. I smile and feel good 'cause I know that love still works, if not for me, at least to others." - Ally McBeal

I Finally Found Someone - Barbara Streisand & Bryan Adams

[Bryan:] I finally found someone, who knocks me off my feet;
[Bryan:] I finally found the one who makes me feel complete...
[Barbara:] It started over coffee, we started out as friends;
[Barbara:] It's funny how from simple things; the best things begin...
[Bryan:] This time is different;
[Barbara:] la la la la
[Bryan:] It's all because of you!..
[Bryan:] It's better than it's ever been;
[Together:] Cuz we can talk it through;
[Barbara:] My favorite line was "Can I call you sometime?";
[Barbara:] It's all you had to say...
[Together:] To take my breath away... [Together:] This is it!
[Together:] Oh, I finally found someone; Someone to share my life;
[Together:] I finally found the one - to be with every night;
[Barbara:] Cause whatever I do
[Bryan:] It's just got to be you!
[Together:] My life has just begun, I finally found someone...

[Bryan:] Did I keep you waiting?
[Barbara:] I didn't mind
[Bryan:] I apologize
[Barbara:] Baby, that's fine
[Bryan:] I would wait forever
[Together:] Just to know you were mine;
[Bryan:] Ya Know - I love your hair...
[Barbara:] Are you sure it looks right?
[Bryan:] I love what you wear...
[Barbara:] Isn't it too tight?
[Bryan:] You're exceptional!
[Together:] I can't wait for the rest of my life...

[Together:] Oh This Is It!
[Together:] I finally found someone; Someone to share my life,
[Together:] I finally found the one; to be with every night...
[Barbara:] Cause whatever I do
[Bryan:] It's just got to be you
[Together:] My life has just begun; I finally found someone...
[Barbara:] And whatever I do.
[Bryan:] It's just got to be you!
[Barbara:] My life has just begun...
[Together:] I finally found someone...

An unexpected surprise..

Monday morning, I woke up earlier than the usual. I do have a work but I told my manager that I will be late as I do have an appointment with the "embassy" in Dubai but I did not elaborate the reasons. The truth was it was an appointment with the VFS, for my application of Schengen visa for the Italy tour. The holiday that I had been waiting for since I came here in UAE in 2006.

25th of February they sent me an SMS and email saying they already forwarded my documents to the embassy of Italy. Today, only after 2 days I received a message again from them saying that my passport is now ready for collection.

Well, I guess it is time for me to give up another dream. I do not want to waste another money again for trying to apply. 296AED for the visa and 250AED for the service of VFS. Aside from the money, also the time. My special friend spent nights awake after working the whole day. Searching for hotels that will not charge a dime in the credit card in case we need to cancel the booking.

I guess in another day, I will share to the world my experiences in VFS. Not that they are bad or anything as it was my first time. So for me the feeling was quite different. But now, I'l just keep on fighting the tears threatening to come out. Remember, I am from a 3rd world country. I am just a regular employee. Single on my 30's. There is no way that the Italian Embassy will issue the visa for me in just 2 days. But at least they did not prolong my agony of waiting. They did not try to break my heart slow....

UPDATE as of March 2013: I was expecting to see the words "visa denied/rejected" but instead I saw my passport with visa for Italy for 20 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy that I have written another blog about it. It was very fast. So you guys want to visit Italy? What are you waiting for? Apply for that visa now!

I Want to Spend My Lifetime Loving You - Tina Arena & Marc Anthony

Moon so bright night so fine
Keep your heart here with mine
Life's a dream we are dreaming

Race the moon catch the wind
Ride the night to the end
Seize the day stand up for the light

I want to spend my lifetime loving you
If that is all in life I ever do

Heroes rise heroes fall
Rise again, win it all
In your heart, can't you feel the glory
Through our joy, through our pain
We can move worlds again
Take my hand, dance with me

I want to spend my lifetime loving you
If that is all in life I ever do
I will want nothing else to see me through
If I can spend my lifetime loving you

Though we know we will never come again
Where there is love, life begins
Over and over again

Save the night, save the day
Save the love, come what may
Love is worth everything we pay

I want to spend my lifetime loving you
If that is all in life I ever do
I want to spend my lifetime loving you
If that is all in life I ever do
I will want nothing else to see me through
If I can spend my lifetime loving you

First Love Never Dies - Eugene Wilde And Joanna Gardner

Maybe first love never ever dies
Thats why Im still in love with you
Hold me close and look into my eyes
And tell me you don't feel it too
The way it used to be when you told me
It would be forever, you and me together

And, we never really said goodbye
We never really said its over
We never really said goodbye
First love never dies
When I saw you I could hardly speak
Youre just as beautiful as ever babe
I guess its still the same mystique
First love never dies

Maybe you just wasted all of your love
We cant go back but we go on
Singing love songs we have once begun
Before we drifted far apart
Before I knew I lost my heart
Well live forever, only you (only you)
With my life together

We never really said goodbye
We never really said its over
We never really said goodbye
First love never dies
When I saw you I could hardly speak
Youre just as beautiful as ever babe
I guess its still the same mystique
First love never dies

The first love, never dies
It never dies (it never does)
First love never dies...
We never really said goodbye
We never really said it's over
We never really said goodbye
First love never dies..........

I'm nervous for tomorrow and for the next 15 days..

I don't mean to blog everyday about this thing but I can't help myself as I need to write down my feelings. I cannot even share with my colleagues/friends what I am going through for various reasons. Tomorrow is my appointment. I will submit all my documents. I am applying for a Schengen visa and Italy is my point of entry.

1. Passport - check!
2. NOC - check! ( thoroughly check the contents of the letter)
3. Bank Statement for the last 6 months in letterhead - check!
4. Plane Ticket and Hotel Booking - check!
5. Photos - check! ( see I even applied lipstick)
6. Appoinment Letter - check!
7. List of requirements - check!
8. Application Form - check!
9. Overseas Medical Insurance - check!
10. Pay slips - just in case they ask for it

11. Trade License - again, just in case they ask for it

My passport and residence visa are both valid up to 2015.

It's my dream for such a long time to see Italy. It's my dream to experince snow. Will they smashed those long time dreams of mine? I am nervous because I never had any visa before anywhere in Europe or US/Canada/Australia. I am nervous because I am from a 3rd world country. I am not doing anything wrong. But in this life, the world has never been and never will be fair. US Citizens will get the visa for only 2 days. But for us, MINIMUM of 15 days. Which makes me think, are they sort of tracking down all your records since birth?

In the requirements list in BOLD RED letters "The submission of a complete file does not guarantee the issuance of a visa". I will surely cry a river if they will reject my application. If they will reject me then I have to wait until next year again.

I will wait for 15 days for what will happen.
I don't believe in miracles, but I am hoping for one this time.
Please process my visa for only a week.

Wish List: Turkey 💔

My stepfather's niece is married to a Turkish. She's been living in Istanbul for a year now. And I am so very happy when she told me that since I am in the UAE, I can visit her anytime I want. Her house is open for me. WOW. I know Turkey is a great country. I had been reading about Turkey even years before. So here I am this morning, searching my friend "google" how to acquire a visit visa. MAKING PLANS. In cases like this I love reading blogs, as thru blogs people who previously travelled will share their experiences from applying the visa up to what happened with their vacation. Duh, so far I was only able to read at least 2 blogs. And they are not really encouraging.

Being Filipino has down side. We do not have that privilege to enter a country without a visa. Or have a visa upon arrival (I experienced that only in Oman and Maldives). In getting a visa for Europe you can thru VFS (means no need for you to go directly to the embassy) but then in getting a visa in Turkey you must really visit their embassy in Dubai. And the time is very limited. It is only from 10am to 12pm.

In getting a visa alone can already be a hassle for me. I am working from Sunday to Thursday from 8am to 6:30pm. I have to ask permission from my boss if I can take half day or just take a sick leave for that day. It is okay if I will be going there only twice but what if they make me keep on coming back almost everyday?

Anyways, I will contact them and ask them everything I need to know. I just hope that they will be helpful. I am really interested to go since I won't need to stay in a hotel I wanted to stay for at least 2 weeks. Wish me luck!

Why it is hard for Filipinos to get a visa?

http://www.law-forums.org/why-is-europe-and-australia-so-strict-to-us-filipinos-t72978-10.html

Why is Europe and Australia so strict to us Filipinos?

Why is Europe and Australia so strict to us Filipinos?

FILIPINOS are well-known for over staying in their application for tourist or visit visas, that is why Europe and Australia as you put it have clamp or closed some doors for Filipinos applying or wanting to come to Europe or Australia in general. Some Filipinos if not all, would take the opportunity to look for a job in these places, and would not come home for a short visit while in Europe or Australia. This is also the big problem of the US immigration office in the past, Filipinos who got a visit visa suddenly disappear and went underground. And since the world is experiencing the global retrenchment of some sort, and some bigger institution is closing because of financial difficulty in these times, the countries mentioned do not want unemployment to escalate to much bigger problem to their own citizens.

For example in Europe, particularly in England. Some of the British themselves are unemployed or could not find a job, here comes a Filipino who got a friend or relatives in England who like to visit in a few days. But the real intention of the Filipino is to look for a job there in England not mere visit. Imagine 100 Filipinos will do the same in England. More and more foreigners like Filipinos are vying for a place to work in England against their own people the British. Filipinos are not the only foreigners looking for a job in England, there are Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Iranians, Russians etc...so you can just imagine the problem England is experiencing at the moment. EVERY COUNTRY HAS THE RIGHT TO CLOSE ITS BORDER OR DOOR TO ANY INDIVIDUAL who wishes to come to their land. Another one is FRANCE in Europe who has more foreigners than any European country.

I am a Filipino, I know you just want a better place, better future for you and your family. But the world has change ever since. This is not the world we thought and saw in some books while we are still young then. The world is growing faster than we can imagine. The more people, obviously the more problem it is going to be. THERE IS REALLY A CRISIS. And the crisis is quite real. There is no more space for all of us here on earth. And everyone is dying to get one, even to the brink of killing the person next to you just to get a number.

What comes into your mind when you hear the word "OFW"?

This is the question that I want to ask to some of my relatives, neighbors, friends, to those NAIA staffs, POEA employees, to those people in the agencies, to the politicians, even to the kids. I don't mean to post sad things, but then I need to let it out of my chest. Because sometimes, I feel that PEOPLE see us as some sort of ATM machine. They do not even care whatever we are going through. What ever will happen to our future.

We are also human beings, working abroad because there is not much opportunities in our country. Working abroad, doesn't make us rich. Even if we do have the latest gadgets doesn't even qualify us to be called RICH. Being away from the comfort zone is bad enough. SO how much more of the things that we do experience everyday?

I'm sick and tired of hearing people that since we are working abroad we do have a lot of MONEY. People expect a lot from you. If those expectations were not met, they have the nerve to be mad at you. And when you are not going home for such a long time, they will think that you must be saving tons of money in the bank. It doesn't even occur to the that maybe you don't even have enough money to buy a ticket home :(

Wish List: Italy 💔

I will be applying for a Schengen Visa as I want to visit Italy.
Right now, I can't explain everything that I feel. There are butterflies in my stomach.

I am very happy, excited, sad, hoping, full of plans etc.. etc.. etc.. etc..
Mixed emotions as this is my first time to apply in such a visa.

I am from a third world country. My salary is not that big. After all, I am just a plain office employee in the Middle East. Yeah, I do belong in one of the biggest companies here. But it doesn't mean that big company, big salary. IN MY DREAMS ONLY.

Though I have enough money in my account to cover the expenses.
I am wishing that they (whoever in charge in the embassy) will not discriminate me.Will not deny my visa just because of my nationality.

Wish me luck :)

Saccoo Leather Bag

Okay so I was surfing the net, I was looking for best brand of bags particularly leather. And OMG, I almost get a heart attack with all the results. Hermes and the likes (LV, Fendi, Chanel etc.. etc.. etc.. ) always do come up as the best or top brands. Wow! There are how many million women all over the world? Are all of them can really do afford these kind bags? Does the price really equate with quality?

How about for those office employees like me? Are you trying to tell me that in the market I cannot find anymore reliable yet affordable stuff like a bag? Of course,  if I will have money surely I will not spend it on a bag just like that. I would rather spend it on other things like traveling or save it up for the future.

Last month, I was in Mirdif City Centre looking for a leather boots for snow. I stumbled upon this leather bag from Ecco and guess the price? It is only 500AED (136$) hehe but I did not buy it as I did not go there to buy a bag. But then again no matter how I search the internet that brand name doesn't come up in the list of 'best' brand of bags. Why is that so? Where do these sources of what is the 'best' comes from anyway?

Then a few weeks back, I happened to pass by Splash in Ajman City Centre. They do carry the brand DES London, it is a leather bag made in India. Again, I tried to look it up in the internet same result with Ecco. I could not even find it in the internet. To think that it is leather and AFFORDABLE. It is less than 500AED.

When the salary for last month came, I went to Safeer Mall to pay some bills and since I am already there I decided to look around at their bag/shoes section - and then it was like finding oasis in the desert (okay I am a bit OA). I was introduced to this brand Saccoo Leather Amsterdam bags!!!!!!! And to my delight the price is even lower than Ecco!!!!!! I really just can't believe it. Some bags at the high end malls are pricier even if it is just made of PU (not even a leather huh).

Right now I do own 2 Saccoo Leather Bags and I am happy with them, I can really say that it is a value for my money. I was quite lucky too that I got them both while on sale. One was 359AED (98$) and the other one is 332AED (90$). I am blogging about it now, just in case another girl out there is searching for an affordable reliable bag but cannot afford what other considered *best* aka pricey. You, yes you who are reading this is there anything you want to share with us? Feel free to do so. Do you also own Saccoo Leather bag? Care to share your feedback?

hello...

hello!
my first blog..
I always wanted to do this but I don't have the time.. And I am undecided what would I write about? maybe, I will focus on movies since I am a movie buff :) [translation: I don't really have that much choice, since I am working from 8am to 6:30pm so I'll be too tired to go out at night, plus at this place summer is longer than winter. Getting through the summer is not that easy]. Hmmm. I love to watch tv series too. Right now, I am dying to see the next season of Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Vikings and Sherlock. I love to eat as well.. And trying to learn to cook different dishes. Sometimes, I get it right; most of the time not! And lastly, I am a frustrated photographer. So I have given up already trying. Just taking photos as mementos, no more no less.

To all the grammar police that will stumble upon this blog of mine please don't kill me if ever I do make mistakes, it has been a long time since I use English properly. I am in the place that correct grammar doesn't really matter. Living my life, one day at a time. Welcome to my world.
